SEXTET Issue IV: Melting Point views writing as an alchemical process exploring transformation in all its forms, be that bodily, emotional, material, environmental, cultural, magical, or the strange.

Balloon

The life
breathed into it
has escaped

Leaving the skin
too loose
for even the gentlest touch

At times stirred
by tailwind of children
gliding past

The party favourite
hardly worth a shadow now
on the living room couch

Not My Type

Serifs serifs
they do my head in
what’s the point in extending
a neat precise ending
this is a bad dream
sans serif! I scream
sans serif
