SEXTET Issue IV: Melting Point views writing as an alchemical process exploring transformation in all its forms, be that bodily, emotional, material, environmental, cultural, magical, or the strange.

We Are Looking For Elegant Solutions

For problems that are not well defined.
Is there a doppelganger feeding you antihistamine pills when you wake up at night?
Is there a dolphin in your bathtub?
Are your pursuits of recycling and amateur dentistry in a rut?
Do you find yourself experiencing dust?
Do you find yourself?

Sometimes when one awakens
A spider walks across the hand
A daddy long legs- nothing threatening
But when we jump up, we find a wolf spider on the headboard
When a slipper to smush it is found
It’s a tarantula, aspirating calmly on the blue pillow
When a textbook is found for the hairy fiend’s end
It’s now a coconut crab
With googly eyes glued on
The Elegant Solution is to pick it up and cradle it
See if you have any coconuts in the pantry
